KYMCO Movie 150
KYMCO’s Movie 150 goes by the name Racing 150 abroad. It’s easy to see this has been marketed as a high performance scooter abroad. A quick search in your favourite search engine (millionshort is a great alternative to Google), should yield plenty of image results of women in bikinis spread all over this scooter. I don’t get it, but something was obviously lost in translation, but I find myself with a sudden urge for Taiwanese food…
The Movie 150 looks like a winner. Light weight. Bright colors. Disk brakes front and rear. Dual suspension. Underseat storage. At 11:1, gear-heads can brag that their scooter gets a better compression ratio than your motorcycle. Moreover, the scooter puts out 13.5 horsepower, which means peak horsepower is half a pony more than Honda’s CBR-125R. The KYMCO Movie 150, priced at $3,595 might be more fit to be compared with Honda’s PCX-150 priced at $3,795 but Honda is keeping their horsepower numbers a secret.
The Good: A lightweight performance scooter with all of the bells and whistles to be a great commuter.
The Bad: Trying to search for this vehicle on the internet and coming up with pictures of girls in bikini tops, when your boss walks in.
The Ugly: Trying to search for this vehicle on the internet and coming up with pictures of girls in bikini tops, when your wife walks in.
Buy, Sell, or Hold? Easy decision on the Buy here. While the Like 200i is perfect for someone who wants a utilitarian but still retro chique looking scooter, the Movie 150 really appeals to rider who wants a scooter that can stands out as far as both looks and performance.
